It is very rare to find giants like Sowcar Janaki of South Indian cinema in a chat. At RS Gowda studio at the outskirts of Bangalore on Magadi Road the top actress of 380 films in several languages Sowcar Janaki opened up from her memory many interesting facts.

We give you some of the flashback moments of the giant actress.

·         It is 64 years in acting in cinema. I have acted all big stars of South Indian cinema.

·         I came to cinema industry when I was 18 with a child in the hand. As a married teenager and with child I was accepted for a long time.

·         I remained always independent. I am in Bangalore at Gubbalala where my sister Krishna Kumar estate is there. I have a small house Sai Kuteera. Leading a happy and content life.

·         I have two daughters and one son is living in California.

·         I am not tech savvy all my children and grandchildren chide me because I keep away. At this 82 years of age I don’t feel it is necessary. I was told in Google search lot of information about me is fed.

·         I was a producer in the past. ‘Kavya Thalaivan’ is KB film. I have acted in 13 of his films.

·         After doing the role in ‘Kavya Thalaivan’ I did not see any unfulfilled role. Sometime back I thought of making a cinema of a heroine coming to industry and retiring.

·         The present day scenario is different. The commitment is missing and technology driver cinema.

·         Without touching of hero and heroine the love scenes were shown in those days.

·         I also see people saying there is no need to join cinema industry and struggle. A cinema should give entertainment and that is the focus today. The life in the society is not dealt.

·         Commitment and discipline is missing.

·         I am a happy person. Content. No complaints. No greed. Never utter lie. I do not like people uttering lies.

·         I remember Kannada films sometime. Forty of 380 are in Kannada. Sati Shakthi, Thaiyge Thakka Maga, Arada Gaaya….etc.

·         Iru Kodugal I have acted got 13 awards.

·         For coming to shoot and going I do not claim conveyance. I bring my costumes where it was needed.

·         I do not eat at the sets. Only once when I was 18 I ate Pongal. After that in 64 years I bring food to the sets distribute and eat my share.

·         Kannada cinema industry is self reliant. Coming from Chennai it has grown very well. It has heart full, art full and commercial films. When the films have not been marketed outside means it is not industry problem. Kannada cinema industry has its dignity and stature.

·         Industry should not always go behind the business part. There are people who make hay while sun shine.

·         I would emphasize on strong rules for other languages.

·         On any day it should not be at the cost of Kannada cinema market.
